ANIMAL HEALTH & DISEASE SURVEILLANCE
ENDIP WILDLIFE LABORATORY in association with: AGRISKILLS TRANSFER
These courses are ideal for persons wishing to develop a career in animal health, para-veterinary science, wildlife management and disease surveillance. These skills programs are developed on a level 4 and a level 5, with significant differences in theoretical, academic and practical workloads.
Both level 4 & 5 programs are presented at Camp Skukutzu in the Balule section of the Greater Kruger National Park, site visits to other private nature reserves and local rural villages are included. Practical sessions working with cattle, impala and chickens or other game are included.
Skukutzu has an in-house field laboratory which is equipped to provide analytical and training services in the fields of inorganic chemistry, microbiology, Parasitology and toxicology.
Accommodation is provided in 2 thatched, air-conditioned huts that sleep 3 learners each, with own en-suite bathroom facilities. Meals provided are served at the main boma complex, consisting of an open braai and buffet-bar; kitchen; lounge and dining room, all under thatch roof. Time off from work may be spent at the little bird hide next to a pond.
Please note that we are situated in the Greater Kruger National Park and that the camp is NOT fenced. Potentially dangerous animals may roam freely and through camp, so it is advisable not to walk around without supervision after sunset.
